Christmas images
I've taken a liberty this month and put four photos up.
They show some, but not all, aspects of Christmas as my family know it.
The reason for the season |

Mini gingerbread house |

The two bottom photos have been cropped and the top one localised.
As far as I know the kitten is original, but my husband plays sometimes, so maybe not.

Waharoa, Auckland
Aotea Square, Auckland
Waharoa, front |
Waharoa, back |
Waharoa is the Maori word meaning gateway.
It is situated at the Queen Street entrance to Aotea Square.
The gate was designed by Selwyn Muru, a Maori sculptor,
and is a contemporary design built in wood and copper.

On the back is a Maori inscription which has been translated into English.

An old meeting place
We were out and about a few days ago and my husband showed me where
he and his mates used to gather on Friday and Saturday nights when he was a teenager.

First Church
First Church of Otago (Presbyterian)
main doors |
Choir loft |
vaulted ceiling |
First Church, as it is known in Dunedin, is a presbyterian church.
It sits in the middle of the city, just out of The Octagon, the city centre.
Very beautiful and ornate, it has had work done on the outside in recent years.
I do have a photograph of the rear of the church
but sorry to say I can't seem to find it at the moment.
Here is a link if you would like to know more about the church.

The Bell Tea Company has been operating in Dunedin for over 100 years
but this year the doors closed permanently.

An inner city church
St Matthew's Anglican church, Dunedin, New Zealand.
A thriving inner city church.
It's a long time since I have been inside and I believe
quite a few changes have been made.
I'd love to have a look again sometime,
unfortunately it was closed when we were there.

A fence or two
in Central Otago.
Standing in the rose garden looking towards the hills.
Looking in the opposite direction.
Around the bouncy pillow at the camping ground.
Near the barbie area.
At the mall.

Out walking one day and came across Islington, one of the original big homes on the Taieri. A hedge is a fence, yes, no? ...
