Amana Christian School is a small private school
housed in what was once the Mosgiel Baptist Church and hall.
The church has been closed for between 15 and 20 years now,
the small and aging congregation were unable
to sustain a parish any longer with no new members coming on.
Apart from a new coat of paint and the sign, the church building
looks exactly as it did when being used for worship.

Good fences
It seems to be a very small school. Good recovery of the building.

ReplyDeleteThat seems to be a world wide problem with congregations shrinking. I'm glad the building has been nicely reused!
ReplyDeleteThe good thing is it is still in use

Very quaint and impressive.
ReplyDeleteneat building. thanks, diana!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they found a use for it, it would be a shame to let it go- it's really a pretty building, and fence, too.
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to see an old building finding a new use and hopefully a new lease of life.
ReplyDeleteNice looking building and it's good that they are using the old church for the school now instead of tearing it down.
ReplyDeleteHere is the link to my GF post as I am late getting around to everyone's blogs:
