Christmas tea cup

This is a Fine Porcelain teacup designed by Angie Dennis
and made exclusively for sale in Farmers Dept stores.
The design is 'Pohutakawa'.
The Pohutakawa is also known as the New Zealand Christmas
tree as it flowers over the summer period
and is adorned with lovely red flowers.

Wedding chapel

The wedding Chapel attached to one of the hotels in Te Anau.

Situated on the lakefront it has a beautiful view from the seats.
Not necessarily a place of worship, but who knows?
And it does have a steeple with a little spire :)
Or is it a belfry?

Lichen on old wood

I was interested in the lichen on the old wood
and then realized I had a couple of fences in the shot.

Lakeside Church

We're still in Te Anau, at least with the churches.
In reality we're home again. Such is life.

And sorry Tom, still no spires :)

An old locomotive parked up

Driving home at the weekend we came across this locomotive and carriages
in the middle of nowhere. These photos are zoomed as there was a barrier
so not too clear. There was no info but as there was a small museum nearby
we are thinking they are still being prepared for public viewing.
The engine has 'Rogers' on the side. I think that is an old disused
railway station mid right in the top picture.

St. Michael's

St. Michael and All Angels Anglican church, Te Anau, New Zealand.

I have been away at a conference
and whilst I was conferencing
my good man took some photos around town for me.
So I will put up some of the churches over the next couple of weekends.

Amana Christian School

Amana Christian School is a small private school
housed in what was once the Mosgiel Baptist Church and hall.
The church has been closed for between 15 and 20 years now,
the small and aging congregation were unable
to sustain a parish any longer with no new members coming on.
Apart from a new coat of paint and the sign, the church building
looks exactly as it did when being used for worship.

The Monkey Bar

and you can go to a link about it here.
From the outside it looks to have some very nice stained glass.

.

Unfortunately it is now a student bar known as the Monkey Bar.

Sorry, not very good snaps,
taken through the front windscreen while we were stopped at the lights.
