  5. Back in the day a bridge was often a work of art, now a bridge merely gets you over the river. Imagine the work that went into building those stone supports. Thanks Diana for joining this week and I look forward more kiwi treasures.

  10. What a fantastic piece of history! I'm glad to see it's still standing. (Sometimes they tear down the "old" when they put up the new, and the "new" is usually modern looking with no character to it.)

  12. What beautiful old bridge pilings! They sure don't accent the beautiful in modern bridges. I suppose it's just too expensive.
