Cromwell

Cromwell, a small town at what once was the confluence
of the Clutha and Kawarau rivers until a dam
was built on the Clutha River down stream of Cromwell.
It now sits where the Kawarau runs into the lake formed by the water
backing up from the dam, which is built at Clyde.
Much of the original township is under water,
along with many stone fruit orchards.

  2. Cromwell looks like a beautiful small town. I was born in a small town but grew up in the city. My Mom and Sis live in a small town of about 25,000 people.

  5. I suppose drowning a town or a valley is for the common good, but it still is sad.
